115. KEY WORDS TO ACHIEVE GOOD JOBS

Keywords are the key to successful resume posting on the Internet. When recruiters search for resumes on the Internet, they use keywords. When search results are delivered, the resume with the most keywords is at the top of the list, and the one with the least keywords is at the bottom. You've got to pack your resume with keywords. If for example "analyst" is key, make sure you've mentioned "analyst" ample times.
Get busy. In a recent study, 81% of recruiters said that being unemployed is less of a stigma than it used to be when it comes to finding a job. The good news is, your chances for finding work while unemployed is better than it was 5 years ago. The bad news is, recruiters still like to hire currently employed people. If you're not working right now, AT ALL, you'd be helping yourself a lot by getting busy with something.

Try temping, volunteering, consulting, taking classes during your career search. Anything you can do to show you've got energy, drive, and interests. Plus, it will give you some great things to THIS is my favorite job board advice to give. Once you post your resume to a job board, it is time and date stamped. If you're lucky, you'll post your resume about 2 seconds before a recruiter goes on the board to search its resumes.

Yours has a good chance of ending up on the top of the list. But, what actually happens is, the next 100, or 1,000, or 1,000,000 people to post their resume after you get a more recent date stamp, pushing your little resume to the bottom of the pile. Basically way into the site's black hole. But here's the good news! Make a point to go in to your favorite job boards often and update your resume.
