142. CARRIER CLINICS

Carrier Clinic, a private not-for-profit behavioral healthcare system, specializes in psychiatric and addiction treatment with five specialized hospital inpatient treatment units. A separate division, the East Mountain Day School, is located on Carrier's campus and is an educational facility for 120 adolescents classified as emotionally disturbed. Our objective is to return individuals to their family, work and community in the shortest possible time at the least possible expense.

Also located on the Belle Mead campus of Carrier Clinic is EAST MOUNTAIN HOSPITAL, a 16-bed psychiatric inpatient facility. EMH accepts medicaid funding for adults age 18 and older, providing both voluntary and involuntary services to patients with a wide range of psychiatric and dual-diagnosis disorders. Since 1910, Carrier has offered a wide array of specialized services to care for individuals suffering from psychiatric and addictive illnesses.

Treatment for illnesses such as anxiety, depression, dementia and substance dependence is offered to individuals of adolescent, adult and older adult populations. Carrier also has an educational facility for 120 adolescents; The East Mountain Day School which is a NJ State Dept of Education-approved school for emotionally disturbed adolescents.

There is also a residential division of the Day School, the East Mountain Youth Lodge, an on-site treatment facility where some day school students live in a supervised setting seven days per week.
